THE OLDEST KNOWN HUMAN VOICE RECORDING WAS IN 1865 OF ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL ON A WAX TUBE. THIS RARE ARTIFACT HAS BEEN CAPTURED AS A DIGITAL SOUND FILE FOR THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS AUDIO PRESERVATION EFFORTS.

IN CONTRAST IS THE EXTRAORDINARY TALK QUALITY FOUND IN 21ST CENTURY AUDIO OUTPUT FROM BOSE AND BLU-RAY DEVICES. THESE SYSTEMS PRODUCE VERY NATURAL SOUNDING SPEECH AND UNIQUE SURROUND SOUND EFFECTS.
